De-evolution -- Gorham, NH - one million BC

Three photographs of Gorham, New Hampshire were taken in 2003 with a Nikon SLR. The view was from Mount Hays. Subsequently, the three shots were pasted together in Photoshop. Although, all the photos were taken from the same position, within a minute, there were obvious variations between the prints.

The Shot was cleaned up to make a coherant panorama. Since this is a "nature" photograph, the town buildings and streets were "edited" out!

The White Mountains are old hills, smoothed down by the erosions of time and storm. By keeping the vertical dimension fixed and compressing the horizontal one, we can see what the area might have looked like when it was young, say at one milion BC.
