THE VIRGINIAN
By Owen Wister
One of the major complaints about electronic books is the high price charged by some publishers. Those publishers are pricing electronic books at the same level as hardcover books. We electronic publishers don't have to chop down forests, buy barrels of ink, have warehouses, or even deal with remaindered books. Electronic books should be less expensive than even mass-produced paperbacks, right?
Well, we at Serendipity Systems have done something about high book prices. We brought back the dime novel. We have taken Owen Wister's classic western novel, The Virginian, and created an electronic version to run on Windows-compatible computers. The price is only ten cents. We are doing this to introduce you to our electronic books. We have science fiction from Marian Allen, Joe Dacy II, John Peter, and Tom Easton, mystery stories from David Harford, a comic novel from C.J. Newton, and more fiction on the way. We also have non-fiction ebooks.
